Project Overview

WILO SE is a German leader in high-tech pumping equipment for municipal, industrial, and domestic use. “WILO RUS” is its Russian subsidiary with 30 regional branches.

The headquarters, designed by ABD architects, is an administrative building attached to the pump assembly plant for the Russian market.

Spatial Organization

Simple layout: rear facade connects directly to the production workshop for indoor access.

Central four-story atrium divides each floor into two parts; houses the main staircase and two panoramic elevators.

Ground floor: lobby with reception, staff canteen (for office and factory workers), company museum with pump exhibits and historical display, training classrooms.

Floors 2–4: open workstations, manager offices, meeting rooms, coffee points.

Top-management zone on fourth floor: private reception, dedicated meeting rooms.

Workspaces designed rationally and flexibly for staff growth. Includes informal collaboration zones, team areas, varied meeting spaces.

Multifunctional rooms: training classrooms and expandable canteen hall for large events.

Design Concept

Core theme: water — the medium WILO equipment works with.

Atrium ceiling: steel panels mimicking rippling water surface viewed from below.

Massive concrete staircase concealed by “underwater plants” — turning the atrium into an underwater experience.

Corporate fountain in lobby symbolizes reliable pump operation (“make life easier”), adding water sound, light reflections, and pleasant humidity.

All other spaces kept maximally transparent for atrium visibility from everywhere.

Project Statements

Natalia Lebedeva, Construction Project Manager, WILO

“The ideas and design by ABD architects impressed everyone — Noginsk office staff, WILO Group colleagues, technopark neighbors, partners, and clients. Despite open space and large atrium, the office remains very quiet with no distractions. Engineering systems allow individual climate control per room or zone. WILO RUS is grateful to the ABD team for their meticulous attention to detail. It’s a pleasure to live and work here!”

Petr Fidelman, Lead Architect, ABD architects

“The office style is laconic yet refined. Black frames set strict geometry, conveying the client’s high-tech nature, German precision, and pursuit of perfection. At the same time, the grand, striking atrium brings scale and impact. Being suburban, the office includes natural elements: bright accents in meeting rooms, green grass, fabric luminaires. Simple yet stylish, in our view.”
