The concept is built around natural materials, elements inspired by nature, and a calm, earthy color palette.
The office was designed to support comfortable work for more than 300 bank employees, while also providing dedicated spaces for serving VIP clients.
Design Concept
The central idea revolves around the relationship between people and nature.
The architects at ABD architects drew inspiration from the bank’s wide geographical presence across Russia, using its diverse natural landscapes — taiga, tundra, mountains, and степи — as a starting point.
These references are translated into the interior through broken, angular lines in walls and ceilings that evoke mountain silhouettes. Carpeting with subtle gradients and irregular textures recalls the soft surfaces of tundra and steppe landscapes. Abundant greenery, living walls, and the use of wood in acoustic panels and finishes bring in associations with the taiga.
Spatial Organization
A strong focus was placed on functionality. Most of the office is organized as an open-plan workspace, with special attention given to acoustic comfort. Ceilings are designed with slatted panels incorporating sound-absorbing materials, reducing echo and minimizing background noise.
A large number of meeting rooms — particularly for 3–4 people — are distributed throughout the office. Each room has its own identity, defined by variations in carpet color, wall treatments, and ceiling design. Some are equipped with flipcharts, others with screens, and all include writable surfaces for notes and ideas.
New shared areas for collaboration provide informal settings where employees can meet over coffee or hold brainstorming sessions.
Quiet zones and dedicated phone booths are also integrated into the layout, allowing for focused work and private calls without disturbing others.
Kitchen areas are designed with a café-like approach, offering a variety of seating options — from bar counters by the windows with scenic views to round tables and more private booth seating. The café zone includes a transformable partition and a screen, making it suitable for corporate events and internal gatherings.
Озеленение
Значительное место в новом офисе занимают растения. Более 10 видов растений было высажено по всему офису – настольные, напольные и композиции в стеллажах.
На одном из этажей создана специальная стена из стабилизированного мха с логотипом банка.
Project Statements
Denis Kuvshinnikov, Interiors Department Principal ABD architects
Nature became our main source of inspiration. The key challenge was to find the right balance — to reflect its richness without overwhelming the space with too many design solutions.
We deliberately moved away from traditional banking office standards and created a space that feels open, light, and comfortable. Natural materials, greenery, and a restrained color palette all support the core idea of ‘people and nature’.
Natalia Roshchina, HR Director, OTP Bank
We’re very happy to have created such a modern workspace. The new office provides all the necessary conditions for employees, and their feedback was carefully considered throughout both the design and implementation stages.
For example, we increased the number of meeting rooms and lounge areas, created a more comfortable and well-separated kitchen space, and introduced more greenery.
We hope this office will become more than just a place to work — a space where people can spend their day efficiently and without unnecessary stress.
