ABOUT THE MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPLEX

The G-Drive Arena in Omsk is a multifunctional sports complex that goes far beyond a simple reconstruction of the old Omsk Arena. It represents a complete reimagining of a sports venue as a vibrant urban space. The project was built on an existing pile field, requiring non-standard engineering solutions and exceptional precision in design. We deliberately avoided fragmentation - the building emerged as a single, cohesive oval volume shaped by the topography and visitor movement logic. The main two-level foyer is fully glazed and creates a powerful entrance accent.

UNIQUENESS

The arena can accommodate up to 12,000 spectators and is designed in a “stacked” configuration - the stands are arranged at a steep angle, creating a fully immersive experience. This solution is unique for Russia and became the first project of its kind to successfully pass the Glavgosexpertiza review. The arena is designed for maximum versatility, capable of hosting sports events, concerts, exhibitions, and large-scale public gatherings. This multifunctionality significantly increases the facility’s efficiency and prevents downtime.

The building’s façade follows a double-contour principle, with glass and metal creating a light and transparent appearance. Everything, from inspection pavilions and luggage storage to architectural lighting and connections to the city’s transport system, is designed in a unified style and logic. Pedestrian zones and parks around the arena make the territory accessible and attractive to citizens all year round.

IMPACT

For us, this project is not only about architecture, but also about transforming a major infrastructure facility into a lively and in-demand urban space. We aimed to create a venue that works for the city, its residents, and the investor. This is the true meaning of an effective architectural solution.
