ABD ARCHITECTS SHORTLISTED IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

The first stage of an international open tender for the development of the architectural design for the Pavilion of nuclear energy on the territory of VDNKh has now ended. On March 16, 2015 Rosatom had a meeting of the jury and selected 6 finalists, who will continue through to the second stage of the competition:

- Evgeny Gerasimov and partners (Russia, St. Petersburg)

- Consortium: Ital Engineering International », Archea Assotiati, Zanetti Design (Russia - Italy)

- ABD Architects (Moscow, Russia)

- Consortium: IND Architects, FR-EE (Russia - USA)

- Consortium: Speech, RAA (Ralph Appelbaum Associates) (Russia - USA)

- UNK Project (Moscow, Russia)

In the second stage of the contest finalists will develop a detailed architectural design of the pavilion.

A total of 118 applications were submitted for participation. 49 competitive projects were received during the first stage of the competition. 21 of the participants formed consortium between several Russian bureaus or with foreign companies from Germany, Italy, USA, UK, Canada and the Netherlands.

During the first stage of the competition, each participant provided concept drawings portfolio and a description of the working team. Already at this preliminary stage many participants provided a detailed appearance of the building and potential materials for construction, showing seriousness of their approach and responsibility for the task.

GK Rosatom expressed its sincere gratitude to all participants and is looking forward to the results of the next stage of the competition.
